iSim of the Month: Understanding Our AEDs — LifePak 1000 & CR2

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are essential safety tools across UAB Medicine and are widely used in ambulatory clinics, as well as various locations throughout the hospital. This month, we’re highlighting new eLearning modules for the two AED models commonly found across our system—the LifePak 1000 and the CR2. 

These 2-3 minute modules offer just the pertinent information you need to operate and manage the device effectively. Their concise format allows staff to access targeted guidance without interrupting clinical workflow.

Consistency in AED knowledge across the health system ensures safer, more efficient responses no matter where an event occurs. These brief modules are designed to keep skills sharp, reduce hesitation, and reinforce the critical steps that save lives. All modules are available through the Learning Management System and the Clinical Simulation website for easy access.
