UAB Mobile Simulation recently visited Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama for an arterial line maintenance simulation, wherein learners honed critical skills in setup, maintenance and troubleshooting.

In critical care, precision isn’t optional—it’s essential.

On Feb. 27, 2025, the UAB Mobile Simulation team partnered with Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama (RMCCA) in Greenville to host an arterial line maintenance simulation that brought precision and hands-on expertise to the forefront.

Through deliberate practice, participants assembled arterial line monitoring systems with supplies available at their institution, enhancing realism and immediate applicability. Learners honed critical skills in setup, maintenance and troubleshooting while emphasizing accuracy in monitoring patient vitals.

“I feel so fortunate that we are able to utilize UAB Simulation,” learner Sarah Williams said. “They have an awesome team and provide a fun yet informative learning environment.

Seven registered nurses participated, building confidence in managing high-stakes situations and improving patient outcomes. This simulation demonstrated Mobile Simulation’s commitment to bringing cutting-edge training directly to rural health-care settings, ensuring critical skills are refined where they are needed most.
