UAB Mobile Simulation visited Clay County Hospital this winter to demonstrate how simulation can enhance clinical training, patient safety and provider confidence in rural health-care settings.

The Clay County Showcase marked an exciting step forward in expanding simulation-based education to new partners within the Alabama Rural Health Collaborative (ARHC). As a new member of ARHC, Clay County Hospital welcomed the UAB Mobile Simulation team this winter to introduce how simulation can enhance clinical training, patient safety and provider confidence in rural health-care settings.

To demonstrate the full range of mobile simulation capabilities, the team brought high-fidelity manikins, including the 3G adult manikin, pediatric manikin Arthur and baby manikin SimNewB, along with task trainers for procedural-based simulations, such as airway management and IV insertion with ultrasound.

The event drew significant attention, with local media covering the showcase and several hospital board directors in attendance, reinforcing the community’s investment in high-quality training opportunities.

By fostering new partnerships and demonstrating the value of simulation in rural health care, the Clay County Showcase set the stage for future collaborations and tailored training programs designed to meet the hospital’s evolving needs.
