Staffing Pool takes the win in 2025 Virtual Sim Room of Errors

Published by Frank Ruggiero on

This year’s Virtual Sim Room of Errors brought UAB Medicine’s commitment to patient safety to screens across the health system, allowing staff to explore a simulated care environment and identify potential safety hazards that can occur in everyday practice.

Held during Quality Week, the Virtual Sim Room of Errors served as a friendly competition across departments to see which areas could achieve the highest participation. Staff from 34 different areas joined in, reflecting widespread enthusiasm for simulation-based learning and engagement in our shared mission of safer care.

Through this interactive experience, learners examined a virtual patient room for issues related to infection prevention, equipment setup, medication safety and environmental awareness—all designed to strengthen critical thinking and proactive problem-solving.

Congratulations to this year’s top performer—the Staffing Pool—for achieving the highest participation! Honorable mentions go to ICVU and MOHS Dermatology for their strong engagement and attention to detail.

Thank you to everyone who took part in advancing patient safety through simulation and continuing to make UAB Medicine a safer place for every patient, every time.
